The legal status of mushrooms varies by location. In the US, mushrooms are federally illegal.

However, in 2022, the State of Colorado passed the Natural Medicine Health Act. Under this law, it is legal to:

• Provide coaching, guidance, and support services for the personal use of mushrooms for persons 21+.

• Sit with someone during a their experience.

• Gift mushrooms for their personal use.

Under this state law, we CANNOT:

• Sell mushrooms.

• Suggest or recommend that you use mushrooms for therapy or any other purposes.

• Sit with anyone that is under the age of 21.

That being said, please note that these mentorship packages offer education, guidance, and harm reduction services for the personal use of mushrooms - if you so choose of your own free will - which IS legal under the Natural Medicine Health Act of Colorado. Participation in all mentorship packages is completely voluntary.

Liminal Lemonade mentors and guides, although trained and experienced, are not Licensed Mental Health Professionals nor Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitators through the State of Colorado. Liminal Lemonade does not encourage nor condone the use of illegal substances.

Our mentorship packages may NOT be ideal for you if:

• You are just looking to check a box.

• You do not understand the difference between intentional use and recreational use of earth medicines.

• There is something about yourself or in your past that you are NOT willing to look at or address.

• You have a personal or family history of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar 1 disorder, or another major mental health disorder (excluding depression and anxiety).**

**If this is the case, and you still want to work with earth medicines, please still reach out as we may be able to connect you with a licensed therapist and facilitator that would be a better fit.

Many people that use earth medicines recreationally use them as an escape; a way to check out and avoid looking at the places in their lives where they are feeling stuck, unhappy, or hooked by intense feelings. While we do not believe there is anything inherently wrong with using earth medicines in this way, at Liminal Lemonade, recreation is not the purpose of our relationship with these medicines.

Intentional use is the opposite of recreation, creating a conscious container in which we work with earth medicines as a tool and ally to take a deep look within and answer bigger questions such as, “what is keeping me stuck in this situation?” “How do I tap into deeper wells of creativity that I know are just outside of my reach?” “How do I fit into this world?” We personally use earth medicines not as an escape, but as a catalyst for change, transformation, and expansion.

Mushrooms can be very safe when used in a respectful, intentional manner with proper education and under the guidance of an experienced guide or practitioner.

According to current data, they are physiologically non-addictive and non-habit forming, but they can cause psychological dependence or other issues. It is important to understand the potential risks and side effects, and to approach their use with caution and respect.

Earth medicines can be emotionally and psychologically destabilizing, especially if you have a personal or family history with certain psychiatric disorders, such as bipolar, schizophrenia, or schizoaffective disorder. There are known contraindications with certain physical and mental health conditions, as well as with some medications—especially antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and heart medications. Please consult a trusted medical professional before beginning any new practice involving earth medicines.

These medicines are powerful allies, not magic fixes. You are the sovereign steward of your own healing. Please move through your journey with care, respect, and discernment.

Before beginning any new medicinal relationship (herbal or otherwise), you should always consult your medical practitioner to see if there are any contradictions.

Prior to working together, you will fill out an in-depth questionnaire and we will have a call to discuss any medications you are on. It is important that you are truthful in these conversations so we can provide insight into possible contradictions before we move forward.

We are also happy to work in conjunction with your therapist for the duration of the mentorship package to be sure the experience is as seamless and as supportive as possible.

Some people have such a transformative and life-altering experience that they do not feel the need to do it again; they feel they got all the answers and guidance they need in that one session. Some people like to sit with them as a yearly check-in. I personally used to do an intentional journey every year for my birthday to complete the previous year and create the next. Others feel 2-3 times a year is a better rhythm. Whatever feels right for you is fine as long as you are giving yourself the proper amount of time needed for you to integrate each session into your daily life and learn the lessons from the previous journey before moving on to the next.

If you need to reschedule our calls for any reason, please do so with 24 hour notice.

If you need to reschedule your in-person session, please do so with 72 hour notice.

If at any point during the preparation phase (prior to your in-person session) you would like to withdraw from the mentorship program, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid, less $120 for each remote preparation session already used.

Once your in-person session is underway, there are no refunds for your full day session nor integration sessions.

Integration sessions must be completed within 30 days of your in-person session.
